Technical Features

Multi-Channel DAC Architecture

The NuPrime MCX-800AD features a sophisticated multi-channel DAC architecture designed for superior audio performance in immersive music and home theater applications. Unlike conventional AV receivers that rely on DSP processing and a single multi-channel DAC chip to decode HDMI signals, the MCX-800AD employs a more advanced approach.

In this design, eight digital audio channels are first re-clocked to ensure precise time alignment before being individually decoded by four high-performance DAC chips. By assigning multiple DACs to handle separate channels, this architecture minimizes crosstalk and reduces noise, resulting in improved channel separation, lower distortion, and enhanced dynamic range.

The DAC outputs of the NuPrime MCX-800AD pass through a high-end I-V conversion circuit with a dedicated power supply, ensuring superior audio performance. This circuit preserves the original signal with minimal distortion, maintaining clarity, dynamic range, and low noise. By optimizing the I-V stage, the MCX-800AD enhances low-level detail retrieval and microdynamics, delivering a more immersive and natural listening experience.

Following the I-V stage, four OP2134 op-amps further refine the signal, providing low distortion, excellent channel separation, and a high signal-to-noise ratio. Their low-noise floor and high slew rate (20V/µs) enable fast transient response, ensuring tight bass, crisp highs, and accurate midrange. By dedicating separate OP2134 op-amps to different channel pairs, crosstalk is minimized, maintaining consistent high-fidelity performance across all channels.

High Performance Power Circuit

A CLC filter is a passive circuit using two capacitors and an inductor to reduce noise and ripple in power supplies and signal paths. It works by shunting high-frequency noise to ground (C1), blocking AC components while allowing DC to pass (L), and further smoothing the output (C2). This design provides superior ripple reduction, better efficiency than RC filters, and stable power delivery, making it ideal for high-performance audio amplifiers, DACs, and power supplies.

The NuPrime custom-designed DC converters, NP15N08B and NP05P10-Z, provide separate, optimized power supplies for analog and digital circuits, offering distinct benefits. The NP15N08B delivers +/- 15V at 8W for analog circuits, while the NP05P10-Z provides +5V at 10W for digital circuits. By isolating these power supplies, digital noise and interference are prevented from contaminating the analog signal, helping to preserve the purity and fidelity of the audio output.

This separation also allows each circuit to receive power tailored to its specific needs. Analog circuits benefit from clean, stable DC voltage for accurate signal processing, while digital circuits receive efficient and stable power for high-speed operation. The result is improved overall system performance, with each circuit operating optimally without the negative impact of cross-interference.

Power Amplifier

Adaptive Voltage Switching Power Supply Amplifier

The MCX-800AD utilizes Adaptive Voltage Switching Power Supply technology and integrated amplifiers enable each channel to deliver explosive power and ultra-low distortion, with a neutral and detailed sound characteristic. The amplifier’s output signal (feedback1) feeds back into the power supply’s servo power stage, causing a change in the output voltages supplying the power stage of the amplifier. This design resulted in more details at a low music level and explosive power at a high volume.

Dual Feedback For Ultra Low Noise

Each channel employs two powerful Class-D amplifiers in a bridged mono configuration, delivering up to 100 kHz signal bandwidth with an advanced dual-feedback (feedback2 and feedback3) architecture and error correction for ultra-low noise and distortion.

Innovative Design, Unparalleled Performance

With its precise signal processing and high-bandwidth design, the MCX-800AD captures the full detail and dynamics of music, movies, and games. This advanced architecture ensures lifelike instrument reproduction, fast transient response, resulting in an exceptionally refined audio experience.
