AES59
An AES standard which defines the use and pin-outs of 25-pin D-sub connectors for eight-channel balanced analogue audio travelling in a single direction in or out of a device, and an alternative bi-directional eight-channel digital interfacing (four AES3 threes in each direction). It conforms fully with the established Tascam interface standard. It is widely adopted in professional audio gear for interfacing multiple channels over a single connector.
AES - Each DB25 port carries 8 channels (4 stereo pairs), so two DB25 connectors provide up to 16 channels of AES3 digital audio
